Škoda has unveiled the next-generation Kodiaq RS, featuring enhanced power, an upgraded interior, and a refined design. While this updated flagship SUV from the Czech automaker meets expectations, some fans might feel let down by the lack of revolutionary changes that might have been anticipated for a new generation.

The Kodiaq RS retains its trusted 2.0 TSI EVO four-cylinder engine, familiar from the previous generation and also seen in the Octavia RS. With improvements, it now produces 265 horsepower—20 more than its predecessor—and a torque of 400 Nm. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic DSG transmission, with all-wheel drive as standard. This power allows the Kodiaq RS to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, with a top speed of 231 km/h, giving this SUV a genuine sporty character. Handling and performance are further enhanced by the newly adjustable DCC+ adaptive suspension, which offers drive modes ranging from Comfort to Off-Road, along with progressive steering for precise cornering response.

On the exterior, the new Kodiaq RS brings more stylistic changes than technical ones. An aggressive front bumper, blacked-out accents, and a distinctive illuminated grille make it instantly recognizable. The sporty aesthetic is further highlighted by 20-inch Elias wheels, complemented by red brake calipers, giving the car a robust and dynamic look. Signature RS elements, such as black details on the side pillars and a “floating” roof capped with a roof spoiler, lend the vehicle a more aggressive and appealing look.

The standard equipment of the new Kodiaq RS includes not only the mentioned DCC+ adaptive suspension but also advanced safety and comfort technology. Drivers can make use of modern LED Matrix headlights, which, through an advanced system, automatically adjust the beam without blinding other drivers. Other standard features include the KESSY Advanced system for keyless entry and locking, along with a digital 10-inch driver’s display and a 10-inch touchscreen multimedia panel. For an additional charge, this screen can be upgraded to 13 inches, enhancing ease of use for navigation and infotainment functions.

The interior of the new Kodiaq RS carries forward its sporty spirit, with a choice of two upholstery variants: the base Suedia and the more premium RS Suite. Suedia combines perforated material and artificial leather, while RS Suite offers perforated natural leather for a more luxurious feel. Sports seats with integrated headrests add a sporty touch to the interior, while also providing essential support during dynamic driving. The steering wheel is equipped with multifunction controls for managing multimedia, navigation, and other functions directly from the wheel and now displays the ŠKODA lettering instead of the old logo.

The Kodiaq RS also comes with a Dynamic Sound Boost system, designed to enhance the auditory experience while driving. This system uses speakers to amplify the engine sound, which driving enthusiasts will especially appreciate. This technology remains part of the Kodiaq RS package, along with seven driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, Snow, and a special Off-Road mode for better adaptation to various conditions.

Škoda has not yet officially announced the price of the new Kodiaq RS, but it’s evident that this generation won’t come cheaply—like most modernized models, this one prioritizes comfort and performance over a budget-friendly price tag.
