After driving several thousand kilometers with the Dacia Jogger, I’ve found that while the car has its strengths, especially in spaciousness and affordability, it also has a few drawbacks. These include uncomfortable front seats, coarse door trim material, outdated infotainment, and an awkward seating position in the rear. However, a major facelift is on the way next year. What can we expect?
Current information suggests that the Jogger will gain a more modern and robust design inspired by the Bigster and Duster SUVs. Camouflaged prototypes spotted during testing reveal a reworked front grille with a more blocky pattern. The front end is expected to get a slimmer grille and revamped lights, giving the Jogger a more contemporary look aligned with Dacia’s current design language. The rear of the vehicle will also see slight updates, with redesigned lights reminiscent of the Volvo XC40, though the rest of the body will remain unchanged. New alloy wheel designs and body color options are also anticipated.
The improvements won’t be limited to the exterior, though. Inside, changes are expected that should address some of the current drawbacks. The facelift will likely introduce a new, more angular steering wheel inspired by the Bigster, along with a significantly updated infotainment system. It’s anticipated that the Jogger will come with a larger touchscreen, probably around 10.1 inches, a big step up from the current system. This updated infotainment system should offer more features, improved graphics, and faster response times, positioning Dacia to meet the technology demands of today’s customers. A digital instrument display is also likely, replacing the current analog dials and giving the interior a more modern feel.
Another possible upgrade could be the engine lineup. While current models offer a choice between petrol, LPG, and hybrid options, the facelifted Jogger could adopt the new hybrid system from the Bigster. This setup combines a 107-horsepower four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery, providing up to 153 horsepower. This extra power will appeal especially to drivers looking for a zippy yet fuel-efficient family car. Importantly, the LPG option will remain available with the facelifted Jogger.
One of the most significant aspects is that the Jogger will continue to be Dacia’s only seven-seater, as the new Bigster won’t offer this option. For families who need extra seating, the Jogger will remain the go-to choice, especially considering the limited availability of budget-friendly, non-SUV seven-seaters on the market. The new model is expected to hit the market in 2025, with customer availability likely by 2026.
