Alpine, the iconic French sports car brand with a rich heritage, is preparing for an all-electric future. As announced, the A110 will be the last gas-powered model the brand will ever produce. And at this year’s Paris Motor Show, we saw the farewell to this legend in the form of the limited-edition Alpine A110 R Ultime.

What Makes the Alpine A110 R Ultime Special?

This special edition is based on the Alpine A110 R, which was already a pinnacle of engineering, but the Ultime version takes things even further. At its core is a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine, the same as found in the renowned Renault Megane R.S. However, in the Ultime version, this engine is tuned to an impressive 350 horsepower with 420 Nm of torque. Compared to the standard A110 R, which has 300 horsepower, this is a significant power boost, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.

The suspension is equipped with adjustable Öhlins dampers, which allow fine-tuning for both comfort and handling. Stopping power comes from AP Racing brakes with 330mm discs, and the Akrapovič exhaust system gives the car a proper sporty sound. With lightweight wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and an aerodynamic body kit providing up to 160 kg of downforce, the Ultime is ready for a thrilling experience both on the road and the track.

A Limited Edition for True Enthusiasts

One of the most intriguing aspects of this special edition is its exclusivity. Alpine plans to produce only 110 units of the standard A110 R Ultime. Additionally, there will be an even more exclusive version called “La Bleue,” limited to just 15 units. This edition comes in a unique color that blends Alpine Vision Blue and Abysse Blue, giving it a one-of-a-kind appearance.

Inside, the Ultime features Alcantara upholstery in four different color options, offering a high degree of personalization. There are also 27 exterior color choices available, allowing each customer to create a car that reflects their personal style.

The Price Question: Is It Really That Extreme?

The price is, of course, something that will catch everyone’s attention. The standard A110 R Ultime is priced at 265,000 euros (approximately 6.7 million CZK), which is already a hefty sum. However, the “La Bleue” version, limited to just 15 units, pushes the price up to an astonishing 330,000 euros, or roughly 8.3 million CZK. For comparison, the price of a standard Alpine A110 is around 1.6 million CZK.

To put this into perspective, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, a car from a higher class, starts at a similar price point. The question remains whether the Alpine A110 R Ultime will sell at this price, even with its exclusivity.
